The Program
"Every child needs nature. Not just the ones with
parents who appreciate nature. Not only those of certain economic class or culture or set of abilities. Every child.

Serving students TK-8
As Long Beach's newest Outdoor Learning Center, we are refreshing our program and supplementing our current academic schedule with more outdoor, experiential learning and exploration including libraries, local gardens, museums, beaches, and more! Our pick up and drop off location will remain as Bixby Park and Grace UMC will be our instructional rotation location, equipment hub, and respite from inclement weather.
Each micro pod, or Circle, is formed of 12 students and an educator. The semester begins with observations and assessments of social-emotional needs and academic baseline content. This data will inform Personalized Learning Plans (PLP) for each student. PLPs promote and support student engagement, core academics, and personal growth.
